Cher Refuge de mon âme fatiguée...

Here, Master, in this quiet place, where anyone may kneel,
I also come to ask for grace, believing You can heal.

If pain of body, stress of mind destroys my inward peace,
In prayer for others may I find the secret of release.

If self upon it sickness feeds and turns my life to gall,
Let me not brood upon my needs, but simply tell You all.

You never said "You ask too much" to any troubled soul.
I long to feel Your healing touch--will You not make me whole?

But if the thing I most desire is not Your way for me,
May faith, when tested in the fire, prove its integrity.

Of all my prayers, may this be chief till faith is fully grown,
Lord, disbelieve my unbelief and claim me as Your own.

-Fred Pratt Green, 1974

Is this how all of life shall be? I realize more now than ever that we are not made to walk through life on our own...WE CAN'T...it's impossible! Praise God for His gracious strength and protecting fortress. "A bulwark never failing..."

Finals is not as stressful for me as for others, this semester. I took a fairly lighter load to make time for other things--next semester will be another case ;) I've had time (probably too much) to spend with people and with myself. I hope I can account well for it.

There have been family members and friends coming in and out of town the last several weeks. It's so wonderful, yet so draining at times. All the emotions you left with those people are packed in their suitcases when they come--these are things that must always be dealt with and can't be ignored. Praise God that He keeps us accountable. My mother is always reminding me of the importance of reconciliation. As children of the Most High, we have been given the ministry of reconciliation. What an exhausting and honoring responsibility. May we maintain it well.

Random tidbits of the college world:
--It is possible to take 4 minute naps.
--It's easy to get addicted to energy drinks (until they don't have an effect anymore)
--Money burns holes and falls out of pockets.
--Chocolate always seems to run out!
--Dorm rooms make you appreciate the thought of your own house one day. (Oh to have a real kitchen!)
--Advent calendars with the chocolate in them are great daily incentives.

Alright, blessings to you all!

One final thing, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!!!!! You are precious and a treasure to our entire family. Know how much I love you :) May you be blessed today--we're celebrating YOU and God in you!

Peace.
